Sylvester Stallone (Rambo IV) não cansa de contratar novos atores para atuar em seu novo longa, Os Mercenários.

Segundo o site JoBlo, Sandra Bullock (A Casa do Lago) atuará no filme.

A trama já conta com Jason Statham (Carga Explosiva 3), Jet Li (O Reino Proibido), Dolph Lundgren (Atirador de Elite), Forest Whitaker (O Último Rei da Escócia) e o campeão do Ultimate Fighting Championship, Randy Couture.

O JoBlo afirma que Sandra interpretará uma agente do governo que se une ao personagem de Whitaker para procurar pelos Mercenários, trio formado por Li, Statham e Stallone, enviados para se infiltrar em um país da América do Sul e lutar contra seu cruel ditador para libertar a população local.Avi Lerner, John Thompson e Kevin King Templeton serão os produtores. Boaz Davidson, Trevor Short e Danny Dimbort são os produtores executivos.

Esta será a segunda vez que Stallone trabalha com a produtora Nu Image/Millenium Films.As filmagens de Os Mercenáriosdeverão começar em março e acontecerão no Rio de Janeiro e no estado de Louisiana, nos Estados Unidos. O longa estreará em 2010.

A pré-produção começa em fevereiro e as filmagens acontecerão em março, no Brasil. O Estado da Louisiana, nos EUA, também servirá de locação.
O longa acompanha um grupo de mercenários que assume uma missão para derrubar um ditador na América do Sul, na ilha caribenha de Corza, uma pequena e mal desenvolvida nação perto de Cuba.
A estréia acontece em 2010.
